One of our superstars, Grace is a cream dun mare born in 2001, by Brisbane Glen of Carlung x Columbine of Whitefield. Grace has had an exceptional show career for us winning the coveted Supreme In-Hand Highland Championship at the 2005 Royal Highland Show. Previous show successes started on her first show outing as a 2yo, when she was Reserve Champion at the 2003 National Stallion Show. At the 2003 Royal Highland Show along with her full sister Fallon, they won the St John's Wells Trophy for the best pair sired by the same stallion. Later that year she was Youngstock Champion at the Scottish Farmer Highland Pony Championship Show. At the 2004 Royal Highland Show, she was 1st prize 3yo filly & winner of the Barrie Trophy for best 3yo bred by exhibitor, giving us our third win of that trophy for the third year in a row.
Now having a break from showing, she is enjoying her new career as a broodmare leaving us beautiful foals !! Her first foal at Carlung was a lovely filly, Oriel of Carlung by Carlung Jed born in 2009, followed by a stunning colt in 2010, also by Jed ! * * * * * *
Emma of Carlung: Grey dun mare born 1999: Brisbane Glen of Carlung x Tower Islay. Emma has had an exceptional show career & as a 3yo was unbeaten. Along with numerous championships, she was Female Champion & Reserve Supreme Highland Champion at the 2002 Royal Highland Show. She is a full sister to our stallion Carlung Feargus and the fillies Koren, Lauren, Mistral & Nymph. Her first foal, Carlung Innes, has had success in the showring both in-hand and now under saddle & another son Carlung Lewis received his stallion license in 2008. Having a year off in 2009, after five colts, Emma finally gave birth to her first filly foal born on the 27th of May 2010 !
Columbine is a cream dun mare born in 1994. By Viscount of Whitefield x Dulcie of Glenfender, she was bought from her breeder as a weaned foal & has become a very successful brood mare at Carlung being the dam of breeding stock but of our top show winners too. The late Fallon of Carlung was the 2003 RHS Female & Reserve Supreme Highland Pony Champion. The same year, Fallon & her full sister Grace of Carlung won the St John's Wells Trophy at the Royal Highland Show for the best pair sired by the same stallion. In 2005, Grace herself achieved the ultimate by winning the Supreme Highland Pony Championship at the Royal Highland Show. After a few years off she has now been scanned in foal to Carlung Jed due in 2011 !!
Islay is a mouse dun mare born 1994. By Zephyr of Whitefield x Skye of Tower she was bought from her breeder as a 2yo filly and is an excellant broodmare. Her first daughter, Emma of Carlung (see below) as a 3yo, was Female Champion & Reserve Supreme Champion at the 2002 Royal Highland Show. She is also the dam of our stallion Carlung Feargus & the fillies Koren, Lauren, Mistral & Nymph. She herself has had a successful show career winning numerous championships herself over the years. At the 2005 Royal Highland Show, along with her foal Koren of Carlung, they won the Margaret Forbes-Sempill Memorial Plaque for the best mare & foal.
Freya is dapple grey mare born in 1996. By Strathmore Concorde x Moss-Side Breagh, she was bought from her breeder as a weaned foal and has bred us some lovely foals, the most noticeable being Gemma of Carlung who is now having a successful ridden show career in the South. Freya was only lightly shown as a youngster but did have some success with a number of first prize placings.
Margaux is a cream dun mare born in 2001 by Fyfedene x Reynelladene and arrived at Carlung in spring 2006. Her first foal, Carlung Marksman, a yellow dun colt by Brisbane Glen arrived in April & in 2008 she had a black filly, Nicole of Carlung, also by Brisbane Glen. She is in foal to Brisbane Glen for 2009 & on the 8th May had a lovely filly Olivia of Carlung. She has been scanned in foal for 2010 again by Brisbane Glen & had a lovely black/dark grey filly.
Jennifer is a 6yo mouse dun mare, Carlung Feargus x Alysse of Carlung . Jennifer is very like her mother both in looks & temperament !! She has only been lightly shown but has won a number of first and second prizes in-hand. Now a brood-mare, she is leaving us beautiful foals
Koren is a mouse dun mare, Brisbane Glen of Carlung x Tower Islay born 2005. A full sister to Emma of Carlung & our stallion Carlung Feargus she has been retained as a broodmare breeding quality foals. In foal to Auchnahillin Scarba for 2009 she had a lovely filly Orla, born on the 12th May. She was scanned in foal to Scarba for 2010 and had a lovely colt
LILY : Columbine of Whitefield x Brisbane Glen of Carlung. Cream dun filly born on the 22nd of April 2006. A full sister to Grace of Carlung she has been retained as a broodmare and had her first foal on the 4th April, a lovely colt foal by Scarba.
Turin Hil Mark x Ebony of Monzie
One of our foundation mares, Esme arrived at Carlung as a 3yo filly. She had a very successful show career & along with numerous show Championships including Supreme Champion at Ayr County & Champion Highland at Blair Atholl in 1996, she was Reserve Female Champion at the 1998 Royal Highland Show. A successful broodmare she bred some lovely foals including our ridden mare Dhaina of Carlung & her full brother Carlung Ebony who's lines run on through his son Carlung Jed. * * * * *
Alysse is a mouse dun mare born 1995, Highfield Glen Albyn x Abbydene and needs no introduction !! The first Highland foal to be born at Carlung she has had an outstanding ridden show career being the first Carlung pony to qualify for both HOYS & Olympia in 2008 !! Originally retained as a broodmare, she had a successful in-hand show career with us as a youngster winning a number of Championships. Over the years, she left us a number of lovely foals with a daughter Jennifer of Carlung also retained. In 2005 we decided to give Alysse a break from breeding and had her broken to ride. At the age of 10 she was a definate 'late starter' but took to her new career incredibly well and amazed us as to how willing & enthusiastic she was !!!! Her first ridden show outing was the 2005 Royal Highland Show & she was placed 4th in the Large Ridden class !! This was followed by winning the 2005 'Scottish Farmer' Ridden Championship Final held at Strathallan Castle. In 2008, on holiday with the Hird family, she had an outstanding season qualifying & competing at both HOYS & Olympia. Now back home at Carlung, our daughter Gemma is having a successful season and at her first outing this year won the M&M Junior Ridden Championship at the NPS Scotland Summer Show.

Broken to ride she is an excellent ridden pony. Shown lightly under saddle her ridden showring debut was at the 2004 Scottish Farmer Championship Show where she won the Nursery Novice class. Now very much a family ridden pony she attends Pony Club Rallies, hacks out around our farm & very much shows the versatlity of the Highland Pony Breed. At the 2008 HPS Breed Show she competed in her first Working Hunter class, being placed 2nd !
In 2009 she is having a year off on maternity leave & on the 21st of April had a lovely filly foal, Oriana of Carlung, by Carlung Feargus. Needless to say this little filly will be staying with us !!!!

CARLUNG KILBRIDE, born 9th May 2005 - cream dun gelding, Fallon of Carlung x Carlung Ebony. Tragically as a result of Grass Sickness, his dam Fallon died when he was only 2 days old. After an unsuccessful attempt to foster him,we raised him ourselves. Known as Bud, he has grown well & at his first show outing won 2nd prize at the 2007 National Stallion Show & a few months later came home with a first prize rosette from Drymen Show. At the 2008 Royal Highland Show he was 2nd prize in the 3yo gelding class. He and Carlung Innes then went on to be placed Reserve in the St John Wells Trophy, a Championship that his dam Fallon of Carlung & Grace of Carlung won in 2003 for the best ponies by the same sire.

Her ridden showing career started with a very successful first show season in 2006 when she was Novice Ridden Champion at the NPS Scotland Summer Show, Novice Ridden Champion & Picton qualifier at the Highland Pony Society Breed Show & Novice Ridden Champion at the Highland Pony Show, Blair Castle Horse Trials.
In 2007, Grace had a light but successful show season winning the 4/5/6 yo Ridden Class at the Royal Highland Show, her first return there since winning the Supreme In-Hand Championship in 2005. 
Carragh is a homebred cream dun mare born in 1997. By Major of Whitefield x Tamaradene, she is a full sister to our senior stallion Brisbane Glen of Carlung and is the last foal born to be sired by Major. Over the years she has bred a number of good ponies some of which have been retained for breeding, notably our 5yo stallion Carlung Jed & his 3yo full sister, Lucy of Carlung. Only lightly shown as a youngster she did win a number of first prize placings before becoming a broodmare. 
Dhaina is a dapple grey mare born in 1998 by Strathmore Valiant x Esme of Armoury. Dhaina has had an excellent show career, her best result winning the Supreme Highland Pony Championship at Drymen Show 2006 and winning first prizes at the 2007 RHS and 2007 HPS Breed Show.
