AUGUST/SEPTEMBER .................some new photos of the foals who are all growing up so quickly !
* * * * * JULY 11th July - Highland Pony Society Breed Show - Once again held at the lovely venue of Strathallan Castle the weather was rather wild wet & windy this year but despite this there was a good turnout of both ponies & exhibitors ! We took 5yo Bud (Carlung Kilbride) & were delighted with a second place prize in-hand & then being placed fifth in his first ridden class, ridden by Heather Dick !!
* * * * * * JUNE Royal Highland Show 2010............and what a show we had !! This year we took two ponies, stallion Carlung Feargus & 4yo mare Lauren of Carlung for the in-hand classes on the Thursday. Both ponies had an excellent show with Feargus winning the Senior Stallion class & Lauren placed 3rd in the Yeld mare class ! We were absolutely delighted when Feargus then went on to win the overall Male Championship !!
Friday saw the ridden classes and we were delighted for Sarah Doran who was placed 3rd with Alysse of Carlung in a very strong ridden class
* * * * * * MAY The rest of May was a busy month with the arrival of five foals within a fortnight ! All photos & details of this years foals have moved to the 2010 Foals page. * * * * * 9th May : Ayr County Show At our first outdoor show of the season, we had a fantastic day with our stallion Feargus winning both In-Hand & Supreme Highland Pony Championship's followed by the prestigeous Overall Light Horse Supreme Championship..........what a day !!!
APRIL Two new arrivals ! Tower Briar Rose has had a beautiful filly by Carlung Jed on the 28th of April !!
* * * * * * Freya has had a lovely colt by Carlung Feargus on the 24th of April........
* * * * * * Our first foal has arrived !!! Lily of Carlung had a lovely colt by Auchnahillin Scarba on the 4th of April..... Easter Sunday !
MARCH 6th March : Our first show this season was the National Stallion Show held at the new venue of Stirling Agricultural Centre. We were very pleased with our yearling filly Oriel of Carlung who on her first outing, came home with a second prize !!
FEBRUARY Just a quick update on the progress of some our weaned foals, now of course yearlings !!! All are wintering well and adapted very quickly to their new lives 'without mum' !! The three who have moved on to new homes, from all reports have settled well which is always nice news to hear !!! Oriel & Oriana stretching their legs ................
JANUARY Happy New Year & Best Wishes to all for 2010 !!!! 2010 has started with a very cold spell here in Ayrshire & like everyone else we have had persistant snow & ice !!! Despite this though the ponies all seem to be wintering well at Carlung & enjoying the regular visits from the haylage delivery man !!

Slightly older news, a new pony has arrived to join the mares at Carlung ! Tower Briar Rose, a 6yo yellow dun mare by Ruairidh of Croila out of Tower Amanda arrived last year. Settling in very quickly she has a lovely temperament & we are looking forward to her first Carlung foal due Spring 2010 by Carlung Jed.
